At our branch meeting on 11 June we have the opportunity to nominate a candidate for the General Secretary election which is happening in July.
Nominations demonstrate the support a candidate has across the union. The significance of a nomination is that a branch is able to campaign among its members for its nominated candidate.
All the details of the election are on the CES website. The two candidates are Simon Dubbins and Sharon Graham and their statements can be found here. At the meeting we’ll have a discussion followed by a vote.
All branch members are welcome to attend and take part in our discussions – you don’t have to be experienced to contribute! In the ‘workplace reports’ section of the meeting we have the opportunity to discuss issues we’re currently facing and get the benefit of our collective experience in how to deal with them.
Members should have received the invitation to this meeting by email. If you haven’t please contact our secretary.
